Community Blood Center of the Ozarks
Since 1995, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks has met the transfusion needs of patients throughout the Ozarks. Each day, it takes more than 275 blood donations to meet the needs of patients in 37 hospitals in 38 counties of southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas and southeast Kansas. All blood and blood products transfused to patients in these hospitals come from donors like you.

Missouri Department of Conservation
The Springfield Conservation and Nature Center is a place to connect with nature and learn the importance of conserving it. The Nature Center utilizes volunteers to assist in its mission "to protect and manage fish, forests and wildlife resoucres of the state; to serve the public and facilitate their participation in resource management activities; and to provide opportunities for all citizens to use, enjoy and learn about fish, forest and wildlife resources.

Springfield Police Department
The Springfield Police Department holds a Citizens Police Academy approximately every six months.
Citizens attending the academy have the opportunity to learn some of what a police officer must know
and do on a daily basis. There is no cost for the class. Enrollment is limited to twenty-five in each academy.

Newborns in Need
Newborns in Need, Inc. (NIN) is a non-profit charity organization that cares for sick and needy babies and their families, and helps where needed in crisis cases.
NIN disseminates information and provides essential items at no cost to those in need. NIN empowers others to assist and encourages involvement as a volunteer or a chapter leader.

Family Violence Center
The Family Violence Center is devoted to helping women and children stop the cycle of violence in their lives.
It provides shelter to women and children fleeing domestic violence and supplies a safe place to stay.
In 2003, volunteers provided 11,342 hours of service to the center.

SouthernCare

Gray/Campbell Farmstead
The Gray/Campbell Farmstead is a pre-Civil War history tour located on the grounds of Nathaniel Greene Park. The purpose is to preserve the history of the pre-Civil War era and to share that history with future generations. The organization is fully dependent on volunteers to keep its tours and programs going.

Ozarks Technical Community College: Adult Education and Literacy Program
OTC Adult Education and Literacy Program offers basic skills classes, GED preparation, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes free of charge to adults 16 years of age and older who are not enrolled in school. Volunteers are neeed to serve as tutors and support personnel for students.
